Crochet Blanket and Gigantic Tote Wedding Gift

One of my good friends got married last weekend, and I decided since she is a crafty lady and I am a poor college student (graduate now) I would make her an awesome wedding gift.

Thus came the crochet blanket, made out a variety of free and otherwise projectless yarns I have. I used a simple block pattern and just kept expanding it till I ran out of yarn, putting a little scalloped border on it.

I wrapped it in a gigantic tote I made out of some swatches of tapestries that I found in Erda. I also put in a few pockets at the top of the bag so that little things might have a chance to survive the depth of it. I did not want to use wrapping paper, trying to be conscious and responsible and make a complete multifunctional gift.

I am very happy to see the two together and I wish them all the best.

Living in Maine

So I am living in Maine this summer working for a handbag (etc) company Erda. Maine has been a wonderful experience with lots of exciting things to learn and many bags to design.

This is my little corner which I have taken over with a monstrous amount of recycled fabrics. Will try to accumulate a set of photos of things I have made and things I have designed.

So long since last posted

Well, it has been a long time since I have popped up anything so a few consecutive overloading posts.

This dress I made for a LARP character named Marion, A lich elf. She is crazy. The dress was totally pattern free with lots of sparkle on it. Very happy with the costume and makeup!

Mystery Box

I received a package last week filled with polyfill pellets, that I will use to make a weighted blanket. The polyfill is commonly used for stuffed animals.

The package is normal but the postage is ample.

Super Fast 3 hour Dress

This is a super fast, unlined, unboned, dress I beasted out last night. Probably should a have put boning in the back for the lacing, but oh well. I am reasonably satisfied with the outcome. Will probably add some finishing and trim on it but otherwise a nice quick project.

The Hedgehog in the Fog Silkscreen

This is a print inspired by the yuri noristein animation “Hedgehog in the Fog.” The experiment didn’t quite work out that great but whatever, now I know more for my final series of prints.

Quick Blouse

Quick blouse I made up tonight. Had some trouble with the collar/sleeves, but it turned out pretty nice.
